    Hi everyone,
I’m Magda Machavariani, from Tbilisi, Georgia (not US Georgia), a small country in the Caucasus region, above Turkey and below Russia.
I’m an EAGT accredited Gestalt therapist, MA in psychology and English language & literature. I work with clients of all ages, parents, couples, families and organizations, both in-person and online, in Georgian and English.
I’ve been interested in trauma for years, read a lot about trauma and somatic and mind-body therapeutic approaches. What sparkled my interest in trauma is, firstly, the eye-opening insight that the main root of almost all physical and mental health problems and even terrorism is traumatic stress and unprocessed traumatic experiences (“unfinished business”), and, secondly, our Georgian people are very traumatized (what is happening now in Ukraine, the same has been happening in Georgia for hundreds of years!), so transgenerational trauma is a prevalent problem here in my country.
I got interested in EMDR when I found out that a lot of foreign gestalt trauma therapists were also trained in EMDR and integrated it in their work. It was a validation of my self-awareness that I need something more to work with trauma.
So I’m very grateful for this opportunity and looking forward to meeting you all in these enriching journey!
Wish there were less traumatized people and more peace on all over the world!
    Magda

    Hello,
I am Christa Courtenay, M.A., I am a group practice owner here in Belize, Central America. I am originally from the USA, moved to Belize after marring a Belizean 16 years ago. I completed my Master’s Degree at the University of South Florida in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling. I am licensed here in private practice, and worked solo for about 8 years, now in group practice for 2 years and counting. The profession here is growing yet still limited and I’m excited to soon be able to level up our therapeutic offering to include EMDR therapy. I’m a mom of 3 children, 14, 13, and 12 year olds, and I play in a steel pan Orchestra! I’m completely excited to level up and be more effective in our therapy practices with our clients.

    Hello all,

My name is Bernadette McGuire, LCSW. I graduated from Columbia University with my Masters of Social Work and am currently residing in NYC. I have several years of experience working with homeless teenagers as a director for a homeless youth program, as well as a crisis social worker for youth in the city. I have clinical training in working with LGBT+ patients, and I am also certified in supervising social work interns in the state of New York. I’m currently working at an outpatient mental health clinic where I provide psychotherapy to adult and children patients, both virtually and in-person. I am hoping to start my own private practice within the year.

I’ve heard about EMDR from past coworkers that have been trained and deliver EMDR to their own patients. I have also had patients that have experienced EMDR for themselves and found it very helpful. I am excited to learn more about it and put it into practice!

    Hello everyone,
My name is Michelle Tauriello. I am a LCSW in New Jersey. I graduated from Fordham University in New York City, NY. I have worked in the field of psychiatric social work and medical social work for about 30 years. Last year, I started my private practice focusing on adults with depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and complex PTSD. About half of my clients are in the LGBTQ community who present with many challenges, especially traumatic experiences. I call myself an eclectic therapist. I use traditional psychotherapies as well as use of sound therapy using Shamanic drumming and Tibetan singing bowls. I have a Certification in EFT/TFT and use when appropriate. I have learned from colleagues EMDR is quite effective in treating PTSD. I am excited to be a part of this training and to add EMDR in my practice.

Hello everyone, I’m Jenalee, I am a LMHC licensed in New Mexico, and currently live in Spain for the past 6 years where I work as a Holistic coach and Yoga Instructor, and am doing Telehealth counseling with NM clients. I have worked as a counselor since 2012 and worked primarily doing suicide assessments, family therapy, mood disorders, and substance abuse groups. I like expanding professional any opportunity I can get and learning/utilizing many different therapeutic techniques to adapt to my clients, so I think EMDR will be a great tool for me in the future, as there is a growing need in NM at the moment (and everywhere).
