Sara Wiggins
ParticipantHello everyone! I’m Sara Wiggins, I’ve been a school social worker for the past 10 years but started working at a private practice in Southern Illinois a few months ago. I earned my MSW from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I’m currently in the pre-licensing process for my LCSW. I’ve worked with many children and families with trauma and other mental health concerns. I’ve heard so many good things about EMDR. I’m really looking forward to this training and being able to apply this therapy with clients.

March 29, 2022 at 5:03 PM #56290Jan Michael Vincent Diaz
ParticipantHello Professor and Fellow Students,
My name is Jan Diaz and I am a board certified both as Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been in the nursing field for 6 years. I currently practice both outpatient and inpatient both for primary care and psychiatry. I reside in Las Vegas which was the site of the Route 91 mass shooting and have encountered patients that experienced severe trauma. I wanted to learn about EMDR so that I would be able to treat patients with both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. A lot of patients are not interested in CBT and the studies I have read on EMDR showed great progress for trauma victims. I look forward to the classes and being able to apply the knowledge acquired in practice and grateful for this opportunity to learn and enhance my skills and knowledge.
March 30, 2022 at 6:54 AM #56308Katherine Barrett
ParticipantHello everyone,
My name is Katherine Barrett, LCSW and Qualified Supervisor in Florida. Prior to becoming a licensed clinician, I spent 30 years immersed in eastern philosophical/religious traditions, studying texts, participating in practices, living in and leading trips to rural southern India and teaching bio-mechanical anatomy, yoga and meditation. My current private practice focuses on adults suffering with addiction, chronic illness, severe mental illness and complex PTSD. I use traditional western psychotherapeutic interventions with holistic methods and I look forward to using EMDR to help my clients learn to decrease their suffering efficiently.March 30, 2022 at 10:58 AM #56330Michelle Burkott
ParticipantAloha, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in S. Texas. I have a private practice with 2 other LPC’s. I primarily work with young adults who suffer with depression and anxiety. As Naomi mentioned I too have received EMDR and have experienced the relief from past trauma and its somatic effects. I’ve been fearful to take this training, concerned I will be overwhelmed. I hope to absorb as much info as possible and be able to assist others in moving past their trauma.
