Registration Is Now Open for Harmonizing EMDR Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis: Building Blocks for Working with Complex Developmental Trauma
Mental health professionals interested in integrative approaches to trauma treatment are invited to attend Harmonizing EMDR Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis: Building Blocks for Working with Complex Developmental Trauma on Friday, July 11, from 9 AM – 4:30 PM Eastern Time with Bill Brislin. This live, virtual workshop will be held via zoom.
Participants can earn 6 CEs and 6 EMDRIA credits while exploring how two complementary therapeutic approaches can be integrated to enhance treatment outcomes for clients with complex developmental trauma and other challenging clinical presentations.
Grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, this engaging workshop examines the compatibility of EMDR therapy and clinical hypnosis, demonstrating how each modality can strengthen the other. Through video demonstrations, case conceptualization, and real-world clinical examples, attendees will learn practical techniques for promoting emotional regulation, facilitating memory processing, repairing attachment injuries, and improving clinical outcomes.
The training will be led by Bill Brislin, MA, LMHC, NCC. Bill is an experienced trauma therapist and educator with more than three decades of clinical experience. He is an EMDRIA Approved Basic Trainer and Consultant as well as an EMDR R-TEP/G-TEP Trainer. Bill is certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). He has long integrated hypnotherapy into his work with EMDR therapy, particularly when treating clients with complex trauma and dissociation.
Bill created this training as a way to share some of the best practices he has developed for bringing principals from EMDR and hypnosis together. When asked about the importance of understanding the usefulness of hypnotherapy interventions in tandem with the AIP framework, Bill share this: “Many clinical outcomes can be accomplished via the skillful delivery of EMDR or hypnosis. However, since they engage the brain in different ways, utilizing them judiciously and in tandem can enhance client safety and progress.”
This workshop is designed for mental health professionals at various stages of their careers, and is open to clinicians interested in expanding their trauma-informed clinical toolbox. No prior training in either EMDR therapy or clinical hypnosis is required, making it an excellent opportunity for those new to one or both approaches, while also offering valuable strategies for seasoned practitioners.
