Hello Professor and Fellow Students,

My name is Jan Diaz and I am a board certified both as Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been in the nursing field for 6 years. I currently practice both outpatient and inpatient both for primary care and psychiatry. I reside in Las Vegas which was the site of the Route 91 mass shooting and have encountered patients that experienced severe trauma. I wanted to learn about EMDR so that I would be able to treat patients with both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. A lot of patients are not interested in CBT and the studies I have read on EMDR showed great progress for trauma victims. I look forward to the classes and being able to apply the knowledge acquired in practice and grateful for this opportunity to learn and enhance my skills and knowledge.
