Shara Goudreau, PhD, LMHC-QS (FL), LPC (CT), NCC, EMDR Certified Therapist and Consultant-in-Training
Dr. Shara Goudreau (she/her) is the founder and owner of Infinite Potential Counseling and Consultation, LLC. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and is board certified as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCHMC). Shara has experience teaching and supervising in CACREP Accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Graduate programs and serves as a Qualified Supervisor (QS) for mental health counselors seeking licensure in Florida. She has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego State Therapy, and Complex Trauma and Dissociation and is recognized as an EMDR Certified Therapist and Consultant-in-Training by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). Shara has over 13 years of experience as a Counselor working with various populations including Registered Sex Offenders, adolescents in a school setting, college counseling center with students who violated the drug and alcohol policy, college students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and community mental health treating individuals, groups, and couples.
Currently, at her private practice she specializes in treating trauma, complex trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) complex PTSD, and dissociative disorders. Shara uses a progressive approach with EMDR- focusing on the client’s overall wellness, increasing resources and coping skills to overcome developmental gaps, and working with the person as a system to cultivate the changes they would like to see. She also integrates ego state therapy and parts work, as well as Polyvagal and somatic based work to support clients in their healing journey.
Shara earned her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands, her Master of Science (MS) in Applied Psychology and Counseling from Lynn University, and her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism from The University of Massachusetts.
In her personal time, Shara enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
