Connect’s comprehensive Basic Training package includes all 10 Consultation Hours required by EMDRIA for course completion at no additional cost to you.
Why? Because we know how frustrating it can be to have to scramble to find affordable EMDR consultation with a qualified Consultant. This can be a huge barrier to completing your training requirements and feeling confident in your practice of this new model.
Each member of our faculty is an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant with years of experience. We are dedicated to ensuring that you receive the support, encouragement, and answers you need to start using EMDR with appropriate clients right away.
Our Basic EMDR Consultation is delivered in small group format via Zoom, so you can join from anywhere. It’s designed to take you from the ground up; reinforcing key concepts from the curriculum while providing the encouragement, support, and answers you need to identify appropriate clients, determine correct pacing, and move confidently through each phase of EMDR Therapy.
During Consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to ask more in-depth questions about how to approach specific cases as you learn to implement EMDR with different types of clients and presenting issues. We’ll also share best practices for working within a range of treatment settings and service delivery parameters, from private practice, to schools, to EAPs, to inpatient, PHP, and IOP hospital and treatment center settings.
How Basic Training Consultation works:
Consultation meetings are held via zoom in a small—group format of about 8 consultees to one Consultant. Most groups meet five times in 2-hour blocks on a designated day of the week and time (i.e., Wednesdays from 9-11AM).
Several weeks prior to the start of your training, you’ll have access to a list of group options for your training cohort and a link to register for the group of your choice. For most EMDR treatment trainings there are at least two different group options to choose from. Once you register, you’ll be able to log into your consultation “course” within our online learning management system. There, you’ll find additional resources to help you hit the ground running as an EMDR Therapist and make the most of the consultation process.
Two to three consultation meetings are held after each training weekend. It’s easier to start using what you’ve learned right away with clients when you know you’ll have a place to check in and receive regular guidance. In a typical consultation meeting, you might review key concepts from the training, view supplemental videos, and practice skills in dyads or triads. Most importantly, you will have time to present your cases, questions, and successes for feedback from both your Consultant and the group.
